Evaluation

This is where I will evaluate my work and the steps I took in the creation of my portfolio.

Below is my answer to question 1 (Uploaded on 27/04/2016):
Below is my answer to questions 2 & 3 I've used Google Slides to create this slideshow. (Uploaded on 26/04/2016):

Below is a write up of my evaluation question 4. I used Google Docs to write and embed this document. (Uploaded on 27/04/2016)

Below is my answer to question 5. I've used bubbl.us to make this. 'Bubbl.us' is an online mind mapping tool (Uploaded on 28/04/2016):

Below is my answer to questions 6 & 7. I've used Logitech Webcam Software to record the video, VLC media player to extract the audio stream from the mp4 file, Audacity to remove background noise from the audio file and finally, Sony Vegas 13 to merge the video and audio files as well as render the final video which was uploaded to YouTube. I chose to save this video in the mp4 format as that is the universal standard for most internet videos. YouTube automatically converts other formats to mp4 after uploading meaning that this saved me time. I also chose to use the H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10) compression for compressing my video file because it is a very effective compression at reducing file size by removing redundant data with little quality loss. I also managed to keep the file size low by keeping the bitrate of the video at 10000 bits per sample after rendering as a higher bitrate was not necessary for this purpose. I recorded the actual video footage with a HD Logitech camera that records in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Additionally, I used the Blue Snowball Ice cardioid microphone paired with a multi-layer pop filter to ensure the audio quality was good even after using a audio sample based noise reduction filter built into audacity. The audio file bitrate was 192 bps which was admittedly too high for this purpose but it didn't make much of a difference to file size as I was using an MPEG-3 compression rather than a raw compression such as '.wav'.
